Advisor: BLS is an American Heart Association (AHA) accommodation option for individuals who understand Basic Life Support concepts but are unable to physically perform hands-on CPR skills due to a documented physical limitation.
Students must complete the cognitive portion (HeartCode® BLS) and demonstrate the ability to verbally direct CPR and AED use in an emergency.
This course results in an Advisor: BLS eCard, not a standard BLS Provider card. Acceptance of this card is determined by the employer or organization.
Who This Is For
- Individuals with physical limitations or disabilities
- Supervisors, instructors, or team leaders who guide others
- Emergency response coordinators
- Healthcare or non-healthcare professionals requiring BLS knowledge without physical skill performance
Who This Is NOT For
- Individuals who require a standard BLS Provider card
- Students who can physically perform CPR skills
- Employers requiring hands-on CPR verification
What You’ll Receive

AHA BLS eCard Policy
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider eCards are issued only after successful completionof all course requirements, including:
- Full attendance for the entire class
- Active participation in hands-on skills practice
- Passing the required AHA skills assessments
- Passing the AHA written exam
eCards are digital certifications issued directly by the American Heart Association and are typically delivered via email within 24–72 hours after course completion.
Important Notes:
- eCards are non-refundable and non-transferableonce issued
- Students must provide a valid email addressto receive their eCard
- Lost or deleted eCards must be retrieved through the AHA student portal
- Failure to meet course requirements will delay or prevent eCard issuance
- Certification is valid for 2 years from the issue date
